This is done in acrylic and with painters tape. I love to use painters tape to sharpen my lines, and squares to me express modern. This was given as a gift to my friend Dave for helping me move.

This is done in acrylic. I love cherry blossoms and also pink on gray. This was my first attempt at the cherry blossoms. The two piece separation also jumped out at me. I've always loved the idea of a continuous painting on multiple canvases.

If you know me well, then you know my love of Superman. I made these with acrylic and a brush. I've been asked if I had spun them, but it was all done with the flick of my wrist. The "S" was done in a hand drawn vinyl stencil. I gave one to a fellow Superman fan and longtime friend Trent. The other is still in my possession.

This is my shoddy attempt at being not only girly and retro, but adding a little flower power. It's not one of my favorite pieces, but I have had compliments, which makes me believe it's not as bad as I think.

Not my best, but also not my worst? I really like these colors together, and honestly had higher hopes for them, but they were last minute additions to a boutique I participated in, and they just didn't get the TLC they should have.

This is my attempt at painting mountains. Can you tell everything is an attempt yet? I made this painting for my aunt who was at the time moving back to Brazil for work, and wanted a piece of home (Utah) to remember. And because Brazil doesn't typically get snow, I knew that would be the perfect scene.

These are two of my favorite pieces. I've been told they look like sunrises or sunsets. Honestly that wasn't what I was aiming for, but I'll take it. These were incredibly fun to paint. This is again another painters tape technique, and one that took time and precision.

I painted this one for my mother at her request. There's one similar to this further in the blog, and she liked it so much she asked that I make her a larger one in the same theme. I love to paint what I call a contemporary abstract. I don't know if it's really abstract, but it sounds good.

The top picture was a requested painting by a good friend who has since passed on, Heidi. She asked that I paint her something rainbow, or something patriotic. She too loved the brush stroke theme, and this is what I came up with. She was so happy when I gave it to her, which of course made me happy in return. Love you Heidi!

The bottom picture is a smaller version of the one in my previous post. And the one that my mother loved so much she asked for a larger similar one. Both pictures were done in acrylic.

All of the paintings below were done for the purpose of decorating my home. I had this idea that I could save money by making my own paintings instead of spending hefty amounts on art pieces. So I set about making these for my at the time guest bedroom. The top two paintings have since been purchased by my brother. And the bottom two are now in my bedroom hanging proudly.

This is one of my favorite pieces and the first I made in this brush stroke theme you have seen previously. It has since been purchased by my Ma (Debi).

With the next few paintings you will see that my favorite color happens to be purple. These are also my first paintings ever. I set out to give myself some artwork for my bedroom. I didn't want to spend a lot of money and wanted to have something original. These are what came out of my mind. This is a smaller accent piece and one I love for the simplicity.

This is a second smaller accent piece to follow the previous one. You can see this is where my painters tape obsession began. I feel like you can do so many fun things with it, as well as stencils (which I draw myself, see spray paintings).

These are two larger pieces, and my first using two canvases to create one design. I love the idea of boxes and ran with the theme for all of my purple pieces.

This is probably my favorite of the purples. This one was so fun to make and took the most time. I carefully sketched out each box and then filled them in. I feel it was worth the time.

This is another favorite of the purples. I liked the idea of a checker pattern, and also the idea of painting the boxes without the use of painters tape. I feel it gives a more imperfect look, which to me felt right.
